MacStadium

MacStadium provides Apple Mac infrastructure such as private clouds and dedicated servers for workloads that require MacOS.

In 2022 and 2023, I worked on two projects for MacStadium — Pricing and Home. Goals: increase conversion to sale and freshen up the visuals.

The pricing puzzle

Initially, Pricing offered only a glimpse of the available options with the phrase "Starting at $" needing to click "Get Started" and create an account to learn more. Observing that many did not, we recognized the need for greater transparency by presenting the pricing details upfront.

The goal was to seamlessly integrate what was previously a private flow into the public-facing website. While this flow was well-planned, its visuals were outdated. To align with the refreshed look of our marketing site, a UI makeover was essential.

MacStadium had an established design system, giving me directions to work with. The desktop version retained its table layout, while the mobile one was inspired by the feel of native apps. Introducing new elements, such as the price estimate bottom sheet and product cards.

Sending the right message

On Home, MacStadium aimed to showcase the versatility of their platform to a broader audience. This includes people who previously had not considered MacStadium as an option — and those who have but were not convinced.

To achieve this, I created a new hero slice which showcases what and whom MacStadium provides — remote desktops for DevOps, personal, business, and education. Adding dynamic text to highlight the use cases MacStadium covers — development, automation, virtualization, and more. Bringing clarity to how the product can serve the customer instantly.

Speed as a metric

MacStadium had strict deadlines — and our team met them. Pricing took two weeks to design, while the new Home was completed in under a week. This includes research, conceptualization, Hi-Fi prototyping, presentation to stakeholders, and handoff to development.

I consider fast-paced projects such as these as ones that put my capabilities to the test — by finding solutions to problems with minimal resources and a tad of ambiguity.
